This Privacy Policy describes how the "Auto Follow Unfollow" Chrome extension (the "Extension") collects, uses, and shares information. The Extension is developed by Yue Apps. This policy applies solely to the Extension and does not cover other Yue Apps products, websites, or services.

The Extension is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

HOW THIS EXTENSION HANDLES DATA ​

This section describes the specific data practices of the Auto Follow Unfollow extension.

Overview ​

The Auto Follow Unfollow extension automates following and unfollowing Instagram users on a timed schedule, using your existing Instagram browser session.

Permissions Used ​

The Extension requests the following permissions, each with a specific purpose:

  • cookies - Reads Instagram cookies to detect login status and to authenticate requests to Instagram's API
  • storage and unlimitedStorage - Stores settings, daily counters, exclusion lists, and the list of users this Extension has followed locally on your device; the unlimited quota allows large target lists to be cached
  • identity - Enables Google Sign-In for Pro subscription authentication
  • alarms - Schedules the next follow or unfollow action so that actions are spaced out over time instead of running in a burst
  • declarativeNetRequest - Sets the Origin and Referer request headers to the values Instagram expects, so that API calls are accepted. This rule only modifies headers; it does not read, block, or report the content of any request
  • Host permission (https://*.instagram.com/*) - Required to interact with Instagram's website and API

Instagram Data Accessed ​

You log into Instagram yourself in a normal browser tab. The Extension does not handle your Instagram password; it only uses your existing browser session to fetch the following data from Instagram:

  • Followers and following lists of a target account
  • Usernames and user IDs of the people who commented on or liked a specific post
  • A user's profile information (user ID, username, display name, profile picture URL, follower and following counts, private-account status)
  • Your friendship status with those users (whether you already follow them, whether a follow request is pending, whether they follow you back)

All this data is processed locally on your device. The Extension does NOT upload your Instagram followers, following, likers, or commenters lists to any external server.

Data Stored Locally ​

The Extension stores your settings, counters, exclusion list, and the list of users it has followed locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device. It is retained until you clear the Extension's data or uninstall the Extension.

What This Extension Does NOT Collect ​

The Extension explicitly does NOT:

  • Collect or store your Instagram password
  • Read the value of your Instagram sessionid cookie (it only checks whether the cookie exists, to detect login status)
  • Upload follower, following, liker, or commenter lists, or the list of users you have followed, to any server
  • Use analytics, advertising, or behavioural tracking services
  • Track your browsing activity on other websites
  • Handle your payment card details

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ​

Information You Provide ​

  • Payment Information. When you purchase a Pro subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, LemonSqueezy. We do not store your financial account information; LemonSqueezy handles payment details according to its own privacy policy. Your email address and a user ID are passed to LemonSqueezy at checkout.
  • Communications. If you contact us directly at [email protected], we may receive information such as your name, email address, and the contents of the message you send us.

Information We Collect When You Use the Extension ​

  • Instagram Session Data. The Extension reads your existing Instagram browser session cookies to detect whether you are logged in and to authenticate requests to Instagram's API. The Extension does not collect or store your Instagram password.
  • Instagram Data. Using your existing session, the Extension fetches follower lists, following lists, commenter lists, liker lists, and profile information from Instagram. This data is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to any external server.
  • Active Tab URL. When you open the follow tabs, the Extension reads the URL of your currently active browser tab to prefill a username or a post link. Because the Extension only has host access to Instagram, it can only read the URL of Instagram tabs. You may also enter these values manually.

Information We Receive from Third Parties ​

  • Third-Party Accounts. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and Google account ID for authentication with Supabase and to verify your Pro subscription status.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION ​

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the auto-follow and auto-unfollow functionality of the Extension
  • Verify your Pro subscription status and apply the correct daily limits
  • Save your settings, counters, and followed-user list locally on your device
  • Process Pro subscription payments through LemonSqueezy
  • Respond to your support inquiries

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION ​

We share information only with the following third parties as necessary for the Extension's functionality:

  • Supabase. For Pro subscription authentication and status verification. A Google sign-in token is sent for authentication; your subscription status is read from Supabase.
  • LemonSqueezy. For processing Pro subscription payments. Your email address and user ID are passed to LemonSqueezy at checkout.
  • Cloudflare Worker. To load Instagram profile pictures for display in the Extension UI. Only the image URL is sent; no cookies, usernames, or tokens are included.
  • Google. For "Sign in with Google" authentication. Standard OAuth scopes (openid, email, profile) are requested.

We may also share information:

  • As Required By Law. To satisfy applicable legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • With Your Consent. When you have given explicit consent.
  • Business Transfers. In connection with a proposed merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or in the event of insolvency or bankruptcy.

Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.

However, we will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you; (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights; or (iii) where we have your consent to do so. We have a legitimate interest in operating the Extension and communicating with you as necessary to provide it, for example when responding to your queries or improving the Extension.

If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not.

SECURITY ​

Yue Apps is committed to protecting your information. We employ security measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please bear in mind that the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

DATA RETENTION ​

We retain personal information only for as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible, securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. Data stored locally by the Extension on your device (such as settings, counters, exclusion lists, and the list of users you have followed) is retained until you uninstall the Extension or clear the Extension's data.

YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS UNDER THE GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) ​

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the following data protection rights:

  • If you wish to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information, you can do so at any time by emailing [email protected]. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information, or request portability of your personal information.
  • You have the right to opt out of marketing communications we send you at any time.
  • If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal.
  • You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information.

We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

YOUR CHOICES ​

You can use the Extension without a Pro subscription, subject to daily limits (6 follows and 6 unfollows per day on the free plan). You can pause or stop any running task from the Extension's dashboard. You can uninstall the Extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data (settings, counters, exclusion list, and the list of users you have followed) from your device.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY ​

Yue Apps does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, and children under 13 are prohibited from using the Extension. If you learn that a child has provided us with personal information in violation of this Privacy Policy, you can alert us at [email protected].

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY ​

This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time, so please review it frequently. Changes will be posted on this page. If we materially change the ways in which we use or share personal information previously collected from you through the Extension, we will notify you through the Extension, by email, or other communication.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS ​

We may transfer personal information to countries other than the country in which the data was originally collected. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. When we transfer your personal information to other countries, we will protect that information as described in this Privacy Policy.
